25 random things about me!

This is a fun little game on Facebook. I had so much fun making the list, I decided to post it on here as well. I plan to try to come up with 25 more of them sometime soon! (This is actually a 'tag-you're it' game, but I'm not going to do that.) Tell ya' what, if you think it's something you want to do - then do it! Let me know in my comments! Enjoy!

1. I am an obsessive compulsive hand washer. Seriously, I wash my hands about 50 times a day! I can not STAND for them to be dirty. Totally creeps me out & I can’t focus on anything but the fact that my hands are grubby! In fact, I rarely wear lotion ‘cause it feels too grimy & I immediately feel the need to run right to the sink to wash it all off! Insane, I know. I’m also a complete germaphobe!

2. I can’t drive a stick. I’m 27 years old & can’t honestly say I’ve ever ‘successfully’ driven one. It’s automatic or nothin’ for me!

3. I LOVE to sing. It’s probably my favorite thing to do in the world. I sing all day long. In the car, getting ready in the morning, in the shower, at my desk at work, to my girls, while cleaning house, probably in my sleep, who knows…?

4. I can tolerate a back rub for about 10 minutes & then I start to get annoyed. (Especially if it’s in one continuous spot.) It drives me NUTS!

5. I have a patch of gray hair that gets thicker, the older I get. I started getting them when I got pregnant with Peyton. If I don’t color my hair like every 3 months, they start to really show! And I lose TONS of hair, daily. It’s unbelievable- perhaps even a little scary - the amount of hair that just falls out of my head! Joe complains about it every time he steps into the shower.

6. My biggest fear is death. Even tho’ I know it’s inevitable, it still creeps me out & I don’t think I’ll EVER be ready for it. 100 yrs old or not! (Joe thinks I’m weird ‘cause I hate to even discuss it with him.)

7. Laundry is my favorite household chore. (I actually kinda’ dig it!) Dishes, is my least favorite.

8. I am particular about soda pop. I only like Dr. Pepper out of a fountain machine, Pepsi out of a can & Mt. Dew out of a bottle. But I prefer it all on ice. (And don’t get me started on which places have better fountain pop than others!!)

9. I heart sleep. I can’t get enough of it. I would sleep 14 hours every night if I had the chance. (Oh, and speaking of sleep – apparently I speak jibberish while sleeping. My husband thinks I actually know some other bizarre language that I’m not even aware of.)

10. I was 20 yrs old the first time I went to the dentist. (And I had 18 cavities!!) I now go every 6 months for cleanings.

11. I truly believe that mothers of colicky babies get a free pass to heaven!

12. The furthest places I’ve traveled are Dallas, TX; Rochester, MN; Carlsbad, NM and Worland, WY. Maybe someday I’ll get to see an ocean…

13. I am constantly saying lines from movies. It’s one of my favorite past times from growing up with my brother. We used to do this all the time. He’s the only person I know, who can literally memorize an entire movie, line for line! Fun, fun!

14. My mom has always been and will always be my BEST friend! I can only hope & pray that my girls & I have the same relationship that she & I have.

15. I attended the county spelling bee EVERY year in grade school and Jr. High. And there was never a year I didn’t place. In fact, I even went to State in the 8th grade!

16. I hate to read. Don’t get me wrong, I know HOW & really am rather good at it, just don’t like to. I lose focus too soon. (I secretly think I have a bit of Attention Deficit….. Hey look, there’s a bunny!.) Therefore, reading short stories to my daughter is about my speed.

17. I have never broken any bones or had any stitches. (Knock on wood…)

18. I am extremely superstitious!! (Hence the ‘knock on wood’ phrase in the above statement.) I stay completely away from ladders, I don’t open umbrella’s inside and black cats scare the BehJesus outta’ me!!

19. The slightest things give me headaches… like these kinds of surveys.

20. I really regret never learning how to play the piano. My mom tried to teach me several times when I was younger, but I just didn’t have the interest at the time. (Nor the attention span...)

21. I love my kids more than anything in this world! But, I could never be a stay at home mom. I’m just not built for it! Come Monday, I’m READY to go back to work!

22. I have a weird thing with some foods. I only eat popcorn with milk duds. I have to have peanut butter on my pancakes/waffles. And I think if I could honestly only choose one thing to eat day after day – it would be pizza!

23. I am not a ‘cuddler.’ My poor husband hates it, but I just can’t fall asleep unless I have my own ‘space’! Plus, I get too overheated. And there’s nothing worse than to wake up, sweating!

24. I don’t do roller coasters. Absolutely hate ‘em! They give me the creeps. I like to go to amusement parks, just won’t get on many rides. I’ll wait for ya’ & hold your stuff tho’!

25. I used to be one of the most organized people I know. However, for the past year, I’ve felt this really slipping. It scares me terribly, that I may not ever be again! Especially, because other people’s UNorganization used to be one of my biggest pet peeves!!

Surgery on Tuesday!

Just a quick update...

Peyton will be having surgery on Tuesday, to have tubes put in her ears and her adnoids taken out. She has been battling with chronic ear infections since she was about 6 months old. She gets them about twice a year! I'm nervous about the surgery, as any mom would be, but pretty excited for the outcome as the poor girl has been on so many antibiotics over the course of the last 4 years, she's starting to become immune to them! Hopefully this will take care of that problem. The Dr. said that if she has any more infections (post-surgery), we will now be able to treat them with just the drops! Praise the Lord!

So, say a prayer for our little Peytie (and for her mommy & daddy too) this week. We'd appreciate it. I will keep ya' posted in the near future as to how it went.

Hope you all have a splendid week!

More pics!

Jack-aroni & cheese

Our little cuddlebug

Peytie & Jack were chit-chatting with Sawyer, it was pretty cute!

G-pa Matt came over for a visit the other nite. Peytie made him give her 'horsey-back rides' for like 45 minutes! Poor guy was tired when he left!

We went to the 'Vrbi down the street' to build a snowman last Saturday. They had a blast! (And I think Uncle Dave had to regain his sanity after all the kiddos left!)

Grammy Tami, Jackles & SJ

Peytie was pushing her baby doll in this stroller the other day. Well, her & daddy decided that it was just the right size for Sawyer, so he strapped her in & away they went. Peytie pushed her around the house for quite a while. (We got the umbrella stroller out after that & she now pushes her around in it. Makes mommy feel much better 'cause it's a little more sturdy!) Sure does keep her pretty content for a while! Who knew 4 yr olds could be such help!?

This is pretty typical of Sawyer lately. Gnawing on her clothes, blankie, hand, pretty much whatever she can get in her mouth. Oh, the joys of teething!

Our girls!

So, it's been awhile... sorry, things have been a little hectic around here lately. Ha! Who am I kidding?... Things have been ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!!! I've been putting a lot of overtime in at work, playing catch-up from my maternity leave. On top of that, Peytie has surgery next week to have tubes put in her ears & to have her adnoids taken out. Sawyer has been teething & has been quite the handful lately. And Joe has been working a lot of evenings as well lately, which leaves me little time to do anything other than be 'mommy' once I get home. ;o) I'm desperately praying for a lull in my life here soon! What I wouldn't give for things to get 'boring' around here again...
Here are just some pics of our girls I've taken over the past few weeks... Enjoy!

Peytie & Addie-Cat

Big sis, admiring little sis!

"Sister kisses"

This is how we hold our bottle around here...with our feet. Our "monkey feet!" LOL!

After a long day at school & daycare...Peytie is quite the ham. A funny little story for ya': The other day, she had an appointment at the ENT specialist. When Joe picked her up from Laura's to bring her to McCook, she was waiting at the door for him. When they got in the pickup to leave, she said "Daddy, what took you so long?" He responded, "Honey, I was busy working - and was just running a little late. Sorry." She came back with, "Yeah, well I've been very busy lately too, with school, work at Laura's & then all these Dr. appt's coming up..." Ha Ha! I tell ya', it's days like those that remind me that our little girl is growing up. (Faster than we'd like!)

Super Bowl Party

We had a little 'get-together' for the Super Bowl this year. (Since Joe's beloved Steelers were playing.) Well, as most of you know - they WON!! It was an AWESOME game & the Cardinals were pretty impressive. I haven't been that 'in' to a game in a long time. It was so intense! And of course... we were ECSTATIC with the turnout! Here are some pics from the nite. (For some reason, I only took pics at the beginning & the end of the evening, so I missed a lot of our guests.) Thanks to everyone who came. It was a fun time!

Daddy's cheerleaders!

Jerry, servin' up some gumbo.

Daniel, Tori, Jack & Peytie

There was a commercial in 3-D so ya' had to have these glasses to get the full effects. (Or so they said... it turned out to be totally lame.) Anyway, the kids thought they were pretty cool!

Some of the crew...

Mommy & Sawyer

Laura & the girls

Hank, Rodney & Joe - watching the ceremony after the game.

True Steeler fans!

Just stuff...

Peytie, munchin' on some popcorn! (Her favorite snack!)
Evidently, it's Jack's fav. too!

Not sure what he's doing here...? (Dave has been so kind to take some pics with my camera lately.)

The kiddo's - giving Tori loves. Poor Tori has a torn ACL & a badly bruised knee cap. We're awaiting word on surgery... We're so bummed that sports may be over for her this year. We look forward to a quick recovery & can't wait to see her kick butt in both V & B-ball NEXT year tho'!!

Our little munchkin! (She's been having a rough time with teething lately. Hence the drool all over her shirt!)

The girs, playin' with their Daddy.

"JACK"-ARONI & CHEESE! (As Joe likes to call them!) This picture proves that there's NEVER a dull moment when these 2 are around! Crazy kiddos!

Sawyer, just relaxed in her bouncer. VERY relaxed as you can see.

Bathtime! Jack spent the evening with us again last week & it was time for Peytie to have a bath, so I threw him in too! (Ok, you know I didn't THROW him in, he was ALL for it!)

Tori Rae & her swollen leg. She stopped by on her way home from the Dr. in Kearney the other nite. She was a little doped up on Vicodin. Can ya' tell? Poor thing...We luv ya' girl!

Another bath tub shot. Cheesetastic!

A few shots of Miss Sawyer

"Ok Mom, enough already!"
