Thanksgiving weekend

The Vrbas' had a nice Thanksgiving, full of great family, food & fun! We had dinner at Grandma Vrbas' in Culbertson and then spent the afternoon resting & watching a movie. Then we went to the Blackman's for supper. I think we ate ALL day! Which is to be expected I guess! LOL!

Lunch at G-ma Vrbas'

Here's Sawyer-hangin' out in her car seat when we first got to Culbertson. She was pretty good for about the first hour we were at Grandma's but then grew tired of all the noise & people! ;o) Let's put it this way... she let us know when it was time to go.

Tori & Sawyer

Jacob is so funny! He WILL NOT take a bottle while in someone's arms. Missy was trying to feed him & he was squirming so much, he nearly jumped out of her arms! So she put him on the floor (under the table so no one would step on him!) What a cutie!

Some of the gang, waitin' for the yummy food.

Uncle Jared & Sawyer (He held her for a while during one of her fits... he definitely has some experience with babies! ;o)

Thursday was G-ma Vrbas & Aunt Denise's birthdays too! Happy B-day, you two!!

Ahh, finally asleep... but only for a minute.
(I think this was taken approximately minutes before she let us know it was time to go.)

Supper at Missy & Jared's

Havin' some floor time.

Joe & Matthew, reading a book.

Some of the crew before supper. (I'm sure we were all thinking the same thing... "Are we seriously eating AGAIN!?) But it was oh so yummy! Thanks Miss, for the awesome meal!

Mommy & Sawyer

Jack & Joe traded hats for a while. Honey, I sincerely hope you don't go through a cowboy phase! Tee hee...

G-pa Matt feeding Sawyer her Thanksgiving meal. Let me tell you, Nutramigin smells & tastes NOTHING like turkey, mashed taters & gravy... :( Poor girl. You'll get to indulge next year, sweetie!

G-ma Tami, telling Sawyer some stories. She was really hanging on her every word! It was cute!

"Really, Grandma?!"

That night when we got home, I went to change Sawyer's diaper & her cord finally came off!! So we were able to give her a real bath... which, as you can see by the pictures, she HATED!! I'm hoping she comes to like them. (For mommy & daddy's sake.)

Peytie LOVES to help with her sister's baths!

Friday

When we woke up Friday morning, Peytie was 'chomping at the bit' to put up all the Christmas decorations & the tree. It took all day but we got it all done. Tori & Dan came over for a while to help tend to Sawyer. Thanks a bunch, guys!

Here's our tree, I think it turned out very pretty!

Missy & Jared invited everyone back for lunch & supper on Friday as well. Since they had so much food left over. (Which I really appreciated, since that meant that I didn't have to cook! YAY!) We had more turkey w/ all the fixin's for lunch & then had soup for supper. We played some games & just hung out as a family. All in all, the weekend was wonderful!

I love this pic. I can't decide what it looks more like - As if she was having a deep thought and became too tired to think anymore? OR She's saying "Shhhh, Daddy - baby sleeping... ?" ;o)

Tori & Dan the man!

A grueling game of Cribbage.

Luke & Peytie had fun catching up. It had been a while since they played together last. (Which is sad since we live in the same town!)

Ahhh, finally... 'Home, sweet home.'

I got up this morning & dyed my hair. I'm actually pretty fond of the color. (I've been so sick of the highlights that have grown out. It was definitely due for a change!) Not sure if you can even see the difference in this pic... but nonetheless, here I am with my new do'!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Gobble

The Vrbas family would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Love~
Joe, Sarah, Peyton & Sawyer

My motto:

I understand God does not give me more than I can handle,
I just wish He wouldn't trust me so much!

Hey everyone. Just thought I'd update you all on little Sawyer. I took her back to the doctor last Wednesday because she still was very gassy, fussy, colicky, etc... and they put her on Nutramigin formula. (Which is about $30 a can!! Twice as expensive as the others.) So far, I'm not entirely impressed. She seems to eat better with little to no gas BUT, she is now spitting up, is constipated, is STILL colicky AND is back to sleeping for 2-3 hour stints throughout the night... Ugh! I'm hoping it just hasn't kicked in yet - but am thinking I should have noticed a difference in the colic behavior within the first few days. (Since that's what I've read on just about every website.) No such luck yet. If anything, it's made it worse. :( Discouraging...

Yesterday was a very disappointing day. She screamed & bawled the majority of the day, threw up several times after feedings & then was up 4 times last night. I made an appointment with a pediatrician in North Platte. Unfortunately the first time she had available for new patients, was next Wednesday. So... guess we'll be waiting it out 'til then. Am just hoping she has some different ideas. Or possibly an ANSWER! I'm getting really nervous & frustrated as my maternity leave is ending in a little over a week, and now poor Laura (our daycare provider) will have to be burdened with this Monday thru Thursday. I just really don't want to leave my baby when she obviously doesn't feel good.

Please keep us in your prayers. Will update more next week after her appt. Hope to have better news then.

Hangin' in there... by a thread,
Sarah

Sisters...

Joe & I went out on a date last Friday nite. Nana & Poppo watched the girls for us. We were so thankful as we really needed some time away. (It was actually for my birthday, since I had the flu ALL day!!) Anyway, Nana snapped this super-sweet picture of Peytie & her Poppo. They're best buds!

Little Miss Sawyer

Sawyer is almost 6 weeks old!!! Things have been a little better. (Truthfully, I'm not sure if she's getting better or if I'm just getting used to it...) nevertheless, we've had some good days lately so I took advantage & got the camera out! She's really been starting to discover her voice. It's so fun to hear her make noises. (Something OTHER than crying & screaming! ;o)

Playin' with the toys on her bouncy chair! She finally realized their was a bug hangin' up there! LOL!

Layin' on big sister's bed

"Whoa, Mom - why so close?!"

I got the headbands out today. Doesn't she look adorable?! ;o)

CUTEST. PIC. EV.This pic makes me laugh, she has her Uncle Trav's "sideways" smile!

Just... stuff...

Floor time with Mommy & Peytie

Sleepy girl...

Peyton's favorite thing to do now! Doesn't she just look so proud?!

Bedtime stories...

"Just a swingin"

Peytie, sportin' her new jammies - pushing her sister in the swing.

Tuckered out...

Last night, we celebrated Peyton's birthday by having her favorite meal - mac-n-cheese w/ hot dogs and then after opening her 2 presents, we watched her new movie - Kung Fu Panda. (With popcorn & milk duds of course!) It was a pretty fun evening!

Peyton was pretty thrilled about her new Crocs. They're lined & fuzzy so she can wear these this winter! (Which is great, considering she doesn't understand why mommy hasn't been letting her wear her regular Crocs on cold days! Such a mean mommy! ;o)

** Joe, Peyton, Sawyer & I would like to give a shout out to Missy. Her birthday was also on Wednesday. (Peytie gets to share a birthday with her! How awesome is that?!)
Just know we didn't forget you Aunt Missy - it's just been a super busy week! We love you & hope you had a wonderful day!! ;o)
